The inaugural 72 day long Aichi Triennale international arts festival starts on August 21 at several venues in the City. Cutting-edge art, opera, video, stage, dance, and theatre from around the World will be heavily featured. T
he majority of the works will either be new or shown for the first time in Japan.

■International Exhibition of Contemporary Arts
About 70 artists/groups from around the world, many of which are making their debut in Japan, will be showing their work. This will be Japan's largest-scale international exhibition to introduce cutting-edge art. The works will be centered around the Aichi Arts Center 愛知県芸術センター (located next to Oasis 21 in Sakae), but there will be smaller exhibitions at the Nagoya City Art Museum 名古屋市美術館 (located in Shirakawa Park - Fushimi Subway Station, exit 7), the Choja-machi site 長者町 (located between Fushimi and Sakae), and the Nayabashi Venue 納屋橋(off Hirokoji-dori next to the Horikawa River) in Fushimi.
Admission: Adults 1800 Yen , University students 1300 Yen, high school students 700 Yen. A regular ticket grants you access to the international art exhibitions at all the venues. You can enter each venue as many times on the same day as you would like. You can also visit different venues on a different day.

There will be cutting-edge presentations, which go across artistic fields, by around 20 artists/groups.
La Ribot ラ・リボット
Spaniard Maria Ribot alias "La Ribot" is active as a dancer, choreographer and visual artist. Her works are characterized by profound interpretations of humor, eccentricity and also words.

Tim Etchells and Forced Entertainment ティム・エッチェルス/フォースド・エンターテイメント
The UK-based, Tim Etchells, artist and theatre company have performed in dozens of critically acclaimed performance works that have been shown at major festivals and theatres around the world.
